Happy Bench Monday
The Akron, Ohio Chapter of the American Guild of Organists held a Member's Recital Sunday afternoon, which I attended. My son Brian was one of six members who performed.
The location was Bath United Church of Christ, and it was a sunny afternoon with a temperature of 41 degrees, such a delight! The sanctuary of Bath Church houses a three-manual and pedal Schantz Organ, built in 2004 by the Schantz Organ Company of Orrville, Ohio. It's a lovely setting with large picture windows, running nearly floor to ceiling, that overlook a wooded landscape.
The first church building dates to 1834; it is still standing and preserved as part of the long history of this place.
