The weatherman said the snow storm would hit on a Saturday afternoon. The good people of Raleigh, North Carolina could expect to be pounded by one to three inches of snow. The dire predictions created a mass feeding frenzy amoung the usually sensible citizens. They overwhelmed local stores consuming all milk, bread, batteries and beer. Businesses closed early that Saturday, church services were cancelled for sunday morning. Worst of all the Barry Manilow concert was postponed. The roads were pretreated with salt solution, news crews were sent far and wide to report on the storm and the chaos it was sure to bring. We were ready......nothing happened. The miniscule amount of snow on this old truck was the most we would see.
