Geastrum britannicum
Geastrum britannicum
Midhurst, West Sussex England
This is the 3rd season this new British species has been found in Sussex. Dawn and I found the first known (unfortunately mis-identified at the time) in the county in 2014 and after finding it again in 2015 we reported it to the SxBRC and to the Sussex County Recorder for Fungi. With his help and the taking of samples, it was confirmed by Kew in May 2015 as the new British species and this year it has appeared again in large numbers at this site.
