Scarlet Caterpillarclub (Cordyceps militaris) and it's host caterpillar.
This specimen (one of the many found at this specific location) was originally found partially buried on top of one of the ancient moss covered graves in a Sussex churchyard during our Fungi Tour of Ancient Sussex Churches, on one of our stops, 22 October 2015.
The image was produced with artificial light and processed from 40 individual image files using a process called Focus Stacking.
