Female American Redstart
The American Redstart (Setophaga ruticilla) is a warbler that inhabits secondary-growth forests. The male's colours match those of the Baltimore Oriole - black and orange with some white, whereas the female's colours are more subdued. Nevertheless, I love the subtle yellows of her shoulder and chest regions.
She was photographed at Magee Marsh in northwest Ohio in May 2012.
Comments, corrections, clarifications and criticisms are appreciated.
