Stranger #23
She moved down from Long Island with her husband who was in the Air Force. This was seen as a solid state job with good benefits. People seem to stay on "until they retire or die" and the last time they had an open full time position was over four years ago.
We had an interesting discussion about using wax myrtles or bay berries to make candles. It seems that historically bayberry candles were used for celebrations as they burned longer and smelled better than cheaper paraffin candles.
