cyst on 1-6 tooth / root, extending into sinus maxillaris
hooray, finally a medical image of myself again... bah. -_-
this is a scan of a print (i know, i scanned it the wrong way around) and it's not that easy to see in the first place - but the right sinus maxillaris contains a large cyst that is extending from one of 1-6's roots, most likely.
1-5 seems to be involved, as it became sensitive to cold things. i've got some facial pain / headache, but i'm hoping to cure that with a bit of cortisone and ibuprofene. sounds mad, and it's not a permanent solution. why dont you get surgery, you may ask. true. but i currently cannot afford to be sick and in pain for a few days - as i'd be after surgery for this - while i can be pain-free and okay with ibuprofen (i just feel an incredibly annoying pressure in my right cheek and eye). it's gonna have to do for about two more months. crap.
good note is, it currently doesnt seem to be badly inflamed or a danger for my right eye. you bet i'd undergo the surgery immediately if it was, no matter what the results would be for me and especially others (e.g. not being able to care for my sick friend)!
what would surgery be? cystectomy and root amputation. in other words: cutting the gums away, exposing the bone. then drilling through the skull from the oral cavity and into the sinus. then removing the cyst from the sinus through the incisions. then sawing off the tooth's roots. then putting / sewing it all back together. and most of all, if you want sedation or general anesthesia, it's not covered by health insurance. what the heck? for a simple gastroscopy that causes no pain but a mere gag reflex, i'd in theory get fucking i.v. midazolam, but for this surgery, i'd get nothing but local anesthesia with lidocaine? thank you very much. well, it makes more money that way, though, i suppose - at least for the hospital. i'd estimate 30% of patients have to go to the psychiatric ward for a day or two after that surgery, as they'd probably have a nerves breakdown. hooray for stupid laws!
