The 9 stained-glass windows in HGB III is the work of glass artist Jan Schouten (1850-1937), a close friend of the architect van Heukelom. The significance of the stained-glass windows halfway up the stairs from the first to the second floor from left to right: railways, shipping, trade, agriculture, fisheries, mining, postal, aviation, telegraphy. The stained-glass windows are the most luxurious in the building.
