Not a stranger

The aim in starting the 100 strangers project has been to get better at taking portraits, thinking of backgrounds, lighting, relationship with subject, the project achieves that for sure, nothing like working under a little pressure to hone ability, at least I hope so.

So this shot, taken in a small country church in Oxfordshire hopefully shows some of the demands in the image.

A cold day and that wonderful watery light coming through the plain glass windows of the church. The subject, an acquaintance of some time was keen to have the photo taken, a good start.

The background pretty good. although a dark one is better, but a personal choice that. So, yes pleased with the result but so far less than half way though the project so perhaps later will mean improvement in this type the of shot. In any event I have to thank Bill for his involvement.

The lens was the stunning 55 mill Zeiss at f1.8/ The Sony locks onto the eye, amazing detail and lovely focus, its very calming to allow the tech to deal with stuff like focus and camera shake and allow the shooter to get in with the job in hand.

Any critical comments gratefully received.
