It's the little things..................

..........Sorry, my French Flickr friends but the only time we buy French wine these days is the one bottle of Sancerre every year to have with our Christmas dinner so we rarely see a cork. In France we weren't too far away from St Emilion and being a World Heritage Site, of course, we had to visit. We went really early in the morning when it was quiet by the time we left at 11.00am it was absolutely heaving with other tourists. Whilst looking around the town we overheard a tour guide speaking to couple of Americans on a wine tour telling them that there are 800 different producers of wine in St. Emilion and, in total, close to 2.4 million cases of wine produced there each year. So lots of little corks required.

 

We didn't buy any wine whilst in St Emilion (too expensive) however, we did buy the tablecloth in the photo which was actually from Provence?!?. Later back in Chantre we decided buy a small bottle just to see what it was like............delicious!
