Newly arrived

In box #5, seven newly hatched House Wrens, taken by inserting phone in top of top-opening box. Nest monitoring on all boxes done in strict accordance with Cornel Lab of Ornithology guidelines.

 

For size context, the cavity of the nest measures about 2 inches across. Although completely blind and helpless now, in two weeks they will be fully feathered and ready to fledge.
