DUSSEHRA 2020 – Paramahamsa Vishwananda

With Navaratri complete, there was still one more night to sum it up. Dussehra is celebrated on the tenth night, and is the final celebration of Goddess Durga’s victory over the tyranny of demons, as well as a time when we celebrate our beloved satguru, Paramahamsa Vishwananda.

A great yagna took place with rituals celebrating Divine Mother, including the chanting of mantras to vanquish negativity and implement protection for everyone. After that, we venerated our satguru with a Maha-abhishekam of Gurudev Himself, and then Gurudev distributed blessings and prasad to each person present.

In His final comments, Gurudev reminded us that the enemies or demons we've been talking about all week are actually on the inside of us, especially pride and ego. We ask the Mother to defeat those demons inside us, to cleanse us and to increase the love for the Divine within us, so that we never forget about the Lotus Feet of the Lord.

Jai Ma! Jai Gurudev!
