Modern Art at Seminole Canyon

Seminole Canyon State Park has a great deal of prehistoric Indian art painted on the walls of caves in the canyon. Some art historians compare it to the caves of Lascaux, France, in terms of their historical significance. This bronze statue stands beside the visitor center of the park and echoes themes seen in the original art. The art at Seminole Canyon is rapidly decaying on account of increased humidity due to nearby Lake Amistad. Every Texan should try to see the art before it disappears.
