Predator and Prey

A crested caracara with a western siren beside the Spillway Trail in Brazos Bend State Park

The western siren is an eel-like amphibian with two very small legs near the head and a tail that looks like it came from a very primitive fish. It's almost as if a tadpole stopped about halfway through its change into a frog and just grew longer and fatter instead.
