Little Country Church
View from a country lane of Sts. Cyril and Methodius Church in Dubina, Texas
This church was established in the mid-19th century by immigrants from what is now the Czech Republic. They, along with other Central European immigrants, came to this part of Texas in fairly large numbers in that time period, and it is still possible to hear programs on local radio stations in their original languages. As late as the mid 1970s, Czech was the third most-spoken language in Texas after English and Spanish.
This is one of the famous painted churches in and near the town of Schulenburg.
