Praha Painted Church 2

One of the famous painted churches near Schulenburg, TX, this is in the tiny community of Praha, which was settled in the mid 19th century by Czech-speaking immigrants from Bohemia and Moravia.

Nine Praha men were killed in action during World War II, making Praha the community with the highest rate of losses of any town in the U.S. - almost 10% of its population. There are still a few houses in the area now, but this church is otherwise about all that's left.
