Mexican Artillery and Breastworks

Reenactor members of the Mexican army at the reenactment of the Battle of San Jacinto

The Mexicans at San Jacinto had one artillery piece, a 12-pounder gun they called The Golden Standard. I'm not sure this one accurately represents that. The soldiers' uniforms are probably fairly accurate, as the Mexican soldiers - those who had uniforms, anyway - wore French surplus uniforms from the Napoleonic wars. I do suspect these reenactors are better fed and a number of years older than Mexican soldiers of 1836.
