FM-2 Wildcat
General Motors FM-2 Wildcat, same as a Grumman F4F
The Wildcat was the US Navy's front-line fighter aircraft at the beginning of World War II but was obviously outclassed by Japan's Mitsubishi A6M, known as the Zero. Grumman and the Navy quickly replaced it with the F6F Hellcat, which became the most successful naval fighter of all time. Nevertheless, production of the Wildcat by General Motors continued until the end of the war.
