USS Texas

USS Texas in early morning light

The Texas was launched in 1914 and is a member of the Dreadnaught class of battleships, the only remaining one of its kind. It served in both World Wars, primarily as a gun platform. During World War II, it shelled enemy coasts in both the Europe and Pacific theaters of operations. It became a museum ship in 1949.
