Aplomado Falcon

Part of a bird show at the Dickens on the Strand festival in Galveston, TX. This falcon was once very common in the southwest part of the U.S. and is now endangered. However, breeding/repopulation efforts seem to have taken hold, such that these birds have become fairly common in the lower Rio Grande valley of Texas.
