Chatham Light
The Chatham Lighthouse was first built before the Civil War and is still in operation by the Coast Guard. The original lighthouse had two lights, one pointing south/north and one pointing east/west. When rotating lights came into use, one of the towers was torn down. The original light used kerosene and put out 30,000 candlepower. The latest light puts out about 2 million candlepower.
