Compiling Keen Dreams is a pain in the ass
A bunch of fans bought the rights to Keen Dreams and open sourced it.
I started with the Keen Dreams source code.
It won't compile on DOSBox but it will compile in a VirtualBox machine running MS-DOS v6.22.
It won't play on a VirtualBox machine running MS-DOS v6.22 but it will play on DOSBox.
✓ Create a VirtualBox
✓ Install MS-DOS v6.22
✓ Install Borland C++ v3.1
✓ Install Borland Turbo Assembler v4.1
✓ Compile graphics packs
✓ Compile Keen Dreams
✓ Create a virtual floppy disk
✓ Copy KDREAMS.EXE to the virtual floppy disk
✓ Run DOSBox
✓ Extract resources from Keen Dreams v1.9.3 (non-shareware version) to a directory in DOSBox
✓ Copy KDREAMS.EXE to the directory in DOSBox
✓ Play (compiled) Keen Dreams
