Southhook brickworks

Southhook bricks came from the fireclay works of the same name. The works was located on a small triangle of land just to the north of the Busby Branch of the Glasgow & South Western Railway, a little way west of Knockentiber. Although there are very faint markings on the grass, there is otherwise no trace remaining of the works.

I found this one on the beach at Bentfield, Prestwick, so this seaworn brick has only travelled about ten miles from home.
