Awesome Little Steppe Polecat in Ruoergai Grasslands
One of my highlights from the Tibetan Plateau was seeing this awesome little Steppe Polecat. We actually had a few minutes encounter with it, following it before it disappeared into a burrow, never to come out again.
After hours of searching for, but failing to find the Chinese mountain cat, or the Pallas's cat which is no longer easily found in this specific region (but is easy in other locales), this was the grand finale of our mammalwatching in Ruoergai. It was also really cool, since I personally lover mustelids, and specifically this is the first "polecat" I've ever seen, so that's an added bonus.
