Would you be mine?

A white and a dark morph reddish egret (Egretta rufescens) in what I believe to be courting behavior. This is the first white morph I have seen. I could not find evidence of the frequency of the white morph, but at least in my local area they must not be common, as in something like 1 white to 50 dark, but don't quote me on that ratio.

On the bird charisma scale, the reddish egret is tops! They are super active and demonstrative in their motions. Loads of fun to watch.

The reddish egret is listed as "near threatened" by the IUCN. The population is estimated to be about 10,000 egrets worldwide.

Happy Valentine's Day everyone!
