Seljalandsfoss

One of the more famous waterfalls in Iceland, Seljalandsfoss is breathtaking. That ledge that the water falls off is where the coastline used to be. Today, that coastline is almost 8km away. When it's not winter, you actually get to walk behind this waterfall which gives you a really unique view. Alas, that path is closed when it ices over so we didn't have the privilege.

This was taken more than 18 months ago and I've only just managed to figure out how to process it to my liking. I'm quite happy with the result, I hope you like it too. Posting this seems pretty apt today because tomorrow we fly to the Jiuzhaigou Valley nature reserve in China, which is known for its many multi-level waterfalls. Hopefully I come away with some good images.

Week's almost over now, have a good one all!

PS: I've only just noticed that Flickr has introduced some banding in the dark water at the bottom that isn't in the original file. So unusual, and frustrating!
