Amidst the vast and endless night,

A flower's spirit burned so bright,

Encaged within a prison tight,

In solitude it passed each night.

 

Its petals shone a fiery hue,

A flame that danced in the dark blue,

But though it longed to break on through,

Its prison walls remained in view.

 

Yet one fateful and starry night,

The flower sensed a new insight,

And in its heart it felt a might,

To break its cage and take to flight.

 

With all its might it pushed and strained,

Against the bars that left it chained,

And though it felt at times restrained,

It knew that freedom it had gained.

 

And so it burst forth into space,

Ablaze with an ethereal grace,

Its petals glowing as they traced,

A path through the stars, without a trace.

 

No longer trapped in darkness' hold,

The flower's spirit now so bold,

Continued on its journey, gold,

And left its prison, brave and cold.

 

And though it wandered far and wide,

Through galaxies and nebulas' tide,

Its light it always did provide,

As it soared, free and glorified.
