The Monument of Dicks and Lentz located in the Ville Haute quarter in Luxembourg City, the capital city of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.
Located on Jan Palach Square, this historic monument was erected to pay homage to the two national poets Dicks and Michel Lentz, who wrote the words of the national anthem.
The monument is topped by a lion, the heraldic animal of the Grand Duchy, while the blacksmith incarnates the steel industry. The pillar contains a chiselled inscription, the wording of which is the motto of the Luxembourgers: “Mir wëlle bleiwe wat mir sin” (we want to remain what we are).
