The Grade II* Listed 1 Castle Hill (formerly 1-2) In Lincoln, Lincolnshire.

 

Built in 1760 as a house of three storeys, first-floor Venetian windows and added ground floor Victorian windows. A second entrance door was added from Steep Hill in 1913 a for E P Uttley.

 

Over the years it has been used in a wide variety of uses;

1857 - J C Torry physician

1867 - residential home

1877 - W H H West run recruiting office of Royal Marines Light Infantry

1883 - H Hiscock, fish, game and poultry dealer, insurance agent and Registry for Servants,

1899 - Mrs Towle's boarding house

1904 - C S Brookhouse dental surgeon

1919 - W Watkins and Son architects

1952 - Thompsons shop

1975 - Brown and Buttrick architects

2011 – Ground floor One Castle Hill Patisserie, Deli, Homeware & Gifts and upper floors offices and a

self-catering apartment
