Newport Bridge at night, August 2014
I took a trip to Newport at the end of August with my friend Jay Howard for a little night photography. Of course, we started the night off at the bridge.
I had shot the Newport Bridge at sunset before, but I'd never shot it at night, and honestly I had no idea that there were so many bright, various-colored lights all over it. Between the bridge's own adornments and the unceasing flow of fishing vessels entering and leaving the bay, there was a whole lot of extraneous light. If you're going to photograph this bridge at night, make sure your lens is as clean as possible.
Technical details: As you can probably tell by the 16:9 crop, this is a 7-shot panorama, with each frame shot vertically. After combining the pieces in PS, I did some massaging, de-distorting, leveling, and cropping in Lightroom.
Thanks for checking out the photo!
