The Tyne Valley Line

The Duchess of Sutherland Cruises along the south bank of the Tyne west of Wylam with the Hadrian excursion on 2 June 2012. The driver opened the regulator shortly afterwards when he saw excited locals waving union flags on Wylam station, having just returned from village jubillee celebrations. Points Bridge at Hagg Bank was on the North Wylam line which closed to rail traffic in 1968.
