WIT:

These are my formal black dress shoes. The last time I wore them was for my office holiday party. I had bought these colored dress shoe laces, and went with the purple for the party since I was wearing a classy shirt / tie combo in that color, and wanted to be kind of whimsical with the laces of an otherwise formal shoe. They had been sitting in my living room, so I figured I'd give them a cleaning and return them to the closet. Then I realized they'd be an interesting photo subject. I included the other laces in the foreground for a pop of color.

 

I used an overhead fluorescent light bulb for lighting. In Photoshop Elements, I added some vignetting to better frame the composition.

 

Laces are from hook + ALBERT for anyone who may be interested.
