A Tale of two beavers
T'was August, a very hot month of August. The local municipality had a problem with the trail's bridge: it was unstable. After consulting the citizens it was decided to undertake stabilization work. The work required a special kind of expertise so that the environment would not be damaged by huge pieces of equipment, ground modifications, etc ... the municipal works department awarded the contract to the Beaver Engineering Co, LLC. Know for its success throughout the county the engineering company developped a novel solution to the stability problem and undertook to build a diagonal dam from one end of the bridge to the other, up to the level of the floor boards.
To this day this marvel of living engineering is admired by all trekers. Local river side residents have lately, however, begun to question the wisdom behind the project as water levels increase during major rain falls and as a residential development is planned nearby. Neither the Engineering company representative nor the developper spokesperson were available to comment on the issue.
