Sego

Historic inscriptions near one of the outlying buildings of Sego, a ghost town in Sego Canyon. This is one of the challenges in understanding rock art in Sego and Thompson Canyons -- I'm guessing kids did these. There are other panels that if I had to guess, I'd say they were done by kids imitating the rock art further down canyon, mostly because they were executed simply by rubbing rocks across the surface (like chalk) instead of by more careful painting generally seen there. But who am I to say? In this canyon especially there are so many styles covering such a long range of time, and so many different skill levels of artists, it's hard to tell.
