Offline
This is one of the images I used to use when the webcam went offline. I wanted to use the one that had my cat looking sleepy and grumpy and mad that I was taking a picture, but I can't get to that one right now . . .
The data drive that has all my photos seems to be having problems. It's started chirping a lot and occasionally takes a little too long to respond and throws an I/O error. So it (and my photos) are offline until I swap it out for a new one. I have a complete backup of the disk, and a second backup of all the photos. Yes I'm paranoid, about 6 months after I got my first film scanner -- and had scanned a lot of film, but had not done a backup -- my hard drive (one of the infamous IBM "desk/deathstars") died and wiped out an amazing amount of work. I've kept full copies of all my disks ever since. So it will all be back soon, I just need to install the new drive (Fry's was having a sale on 1TB SATA disks) and restore the data.
