Restorative Justice at work in Abbotsford schools and community

Leading up to Restorative Justice Week (Nov. 20- 27), Minister of Public Safety and Solicitor General Mike Morris met with a group at Eugene Reimer Middle School (SD34) in Abbotsford to hear first-hand how restorative justice can transform the lives of students, teachers, families, victims, offenders and the community as a whole.

 

Also attending: MLA Simon Gibson (Abbotsford Mission), MLA Darryl Plecas (Abbotsford South), Abbotsford Mayor Henry Braun, Abbotsford Board of Education Chair Rhonda Pauls, Principal Ian Levings, Sgt. Casey Vinet, Abbotsford Police Department, and representatives from Abbotsford Restorative Justice and Advocacy Association.

 

Restorative Justice, as an alternative to the criminal justice system, is helping to transform lives and communities throughout the province.
