BC, Canada working to attract skilled newcomers
Actively recruiting economic immigrants that have the skills the BC and Canadian economy needs most was on the table when Jobs, Tourism and Skills Training Minister Shirley Bond met with Canada's Citizenship and Immigration Minister Chris Alexander and provincial and territorial immigration ministers March 18 in Ottawa. The Ministers agreed to continue collaborating on building the new active recruitment model intended to transform Canada's immigration system into one that is more responsive to labour market needs.
