Postbridge, Dartmoor

The famous Clapper Bridge at Postbridge in the centre of Dartmoor is said to date back to the 12th century, though it seems much older to me and no-one really knows when it was built. It was first recorded in 1380. There are several other examples of clapper bridges in the south-west and elsewhere in the world. The bridge crosses over the East Dart River, which goes on to form the River Dart.
