Fishing boats at Morecambe, Lancashire

I suppose I could have called this the old and the new. The red boat is a fairly modern inshore fishing boat while the boat behind it is a traditional "prawner". Morecambe Bay is famous for its shrimps and prawns, and potted shrimps is a classical dish, normally eaten warm on toast.

 

Across the other side of Morecambe Bay is the Furness coast of Cumbria. In the far distance some of the mountains of the Lake District can just be seen.
