The seafront at Kingsand, Cornwall
Kingsland and Cawsand are neighbouring former fishing villages on the Rame Peninsula in the far south-east of Cornwall, where they overlook Plymouth Sound. Both villages seem to have a high proportion of holiday homes and also act as a dormitory village for Plymouth. I particularly like Kingsand and its delightful pub - the Devonport Arms - on this seafront. In the distance on the right can be seen one of the many forts built in the 1850s to protect Plymouth from attack by sea. It has now been converted into residences.
