West Window, Cartmel Priory Church, Cumbria
Cartmel Priory Church is Grade I-listed and has been described as the finest church in the north-west of England. Its very large East Window dates from the medieval period, while at the opposite end of the church this West Window is far later. According to Simon Jenkins in his book, England's Thousand Best Churches, the West Window is by the acclaimed stained glass firm Burlison & Grylls, who operated from 1868 onwards.
