Rocks on the beach, Looe, Cornwall

Looe is a pretty little traditional fishing town on the south-east coast of Cornwall. It straddles the Looe River and on the west side much of the beach is given over to an extensive rock shelf which is revealed at low tide. Here at East Looe is a sandy beach with the Banjo Pier separating the beach from the river at the western end, while this rocky outcrop is to be found at the eastern end. On the horizon is a Royal Navy warship - probably a Type 23 frigate based at Devonport, which is some 15 or so miles to the east.
