The beach at North Berwick, Scotland
During our week in Scotland we twice made the trip to North Berwick, which we thought was a delightful seaside town. North Berwick (not to be confused with Berwick on Tweed) is a former royal burgh in East Lothian, Scotland. It is situated on the south shore of the Firth of Forth, some 25 miles from Edinburgh. North Berwick became a fashionable holiday resort in the 19th century because of its two sandy bays, the East (or Milsey) Bay - pictured - and the West Bay, and continues to attract holiday makers to this day.
