Stowe House, Buckinghamshire - interior
During school holidays Stowe House, which is just outside Buckingham and which has been the home of Stowe School since 1923, is open to the public. The once splendid late 17th century house itself was in a grave state of disrepair when the arrival of the school effectively saved it from demolition in the early 1920s. Virtually all the furniture was sold at that time. However, following restoration, the wonderful ceilings and decorations remain to be enjoyed by visitors. This is the State Music Room.
