Polperro harbour

For me, Polperro is probably the prettiest little fishing village in Cornwall, with its tiny harbour and equally small fish market. The harbour is guarded from the gales by a stout stone wall, where you can sit and enjoy the views of the harbour mouth, which sits between two cliffs. The village, from which most cars are prohibited, is trapped between two steep hillsides and has narrow twisting lanes and alleyways with a few shops, pubs, restaurants and art galleries. During the holiday season it can get very busy indeed, but out of season it is quite delightful, even if many of the shops and restaurants have closed for the winter.
