Autumn melancholy

According to ancient belief, melancholy is a state of mood caused by excess of black bile (Greek: melaina chole, "dark bile") produced by the spleen. Black bile is associated with the earth from the 4 elements, the season of autumn, and cold and dry as related qualities.
