Klumpp's Cordials: Beaudesert Soft Drinks (Queensland's Scenic Rim, Australia)
According to documents from Trove (trove.nla.gov.au) on the 8th of July 1955, the Beaudesert Times newspaper reported:
Last Friday, the old established business of Klumpp's Cordials was taken over by Mr. Douglas Sullivan, a member of the firm of the Estate M. T. Sullivan, proprietors of Grand Hotel Beaudesert and Twenty-nine Murray Street (Brisbane), and Statewide caterers.
The business was established by Mr. Max. Massam, a great many years ago, and was purchased by the late Mr. J. Klumpp a little more than twenty years ago. The business grew enormously whilst conducted by Mr. Klumpp with the assistance of his two sons who took over the entire management upon their father's retirement after the war. Soon after the war, a large and modern factory was built at the corner of Brisbane Road and Birnam Road.
Mr. Sullivan will conduct the business personally, trading in the name of Klumpps Cordials Pty. Ltd. He will be assisted for a few months by Mr. W. Klumpp. Mr. Sullivan is not without experience in the soft drink manufacturing trade, for he has been conducting that side of the business of the Grand Hotel for some years.
It is understood that Mr. and Mrs. H. Klumpp intend to settle in the North a little later on.
