Dutch polder -
The Kil Group had its troops spread over three zones: The Hoekse Waard between the Kil and Westmaas [east-west] called Strijen box [Command commander was the C.28RI, reserve Lieutenant Colonel GW Stroink], the Wieldrecht box on the island van Dordrecht [with the exception of the Canton of Dordrecht itself] and the Moerdijk bridgehead. Two of these zones were subdivided into subjects. For Wieldrecht these were the courses West, Central and East and for the Hoekse Waard the zone around the staff quarters, and the battalion courses Strijen-West and Strijen-Oost. The 14th Compagnie Pioniers belonging to the Group, which consisted of around 220 people, was housed in a school building on the southwestern border of Dordrecht. It is included in the Vak Wieldrecht and discussed there.
