East Kirkby air museum
I was at the Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre at East Kirkby this week. I had been there before but as I am severing my connection with the county I wanted to get some video footage for an upcoming YouTube film.
The Lancaster bomber "Just Jane" was back in one piece and on the tarmac. The last time I saw her she was in bits in one of the hangers. Turns out she is still in bits as her rear fuselage is actually still in the hanger being overhauled and she is out and taxiing wearing the rear fuselage of another aircraft "on loan" while her own part is returned to flying order. The plan is to return Just Jane to the air eventually.
I also looked at the Mosquito NF II and the B-25 Mitchell bomber which both share the hangar with Just Jane.
