Gundam Real-G
As a tribute to 30 years of the famous anime Gundam, a 1:1 replica of the world famous robot was created in Shiokaze Park, Odaiba, next to Tokyo Bay Japan. The "Real-G" exhibit as it was called, ran from July 11, 2009 to August 31, 2009.
A fascinating fact given by Wikipedia is that the Gundam brand is worth 50 billion yen ($550M). An amazing feat, as the animation started in 1979.
In mid-day, the Tokyo weather was cloudy/overcast, and I got lucky with the sun behind the robot. Pre-edited photos don't look so special. I took seven bracketed JPG photos handheld, merged and tonemapped in Photomatix, and edited in Photoshop and iPhoto.
EXIF:
Exposure Program: Aperture priority
Exposures: 7 bracketed +/-1 each
Aperture: f/3.5
Focal Length: 50 mm
ISO Speed: 200
Exposure Bias: 0 EV
